Corona Courtesies
Health and Disinfection Plan
We are closely monitoring government policy changes, Centers for Disease Control (CDC) guidelines, government mandates, and public health advancements and will continue to make changes as necessary or appropriate to our protocols and procedures.
A risk of exposure to COVID-19 exists in any public place or accommodation. COVID-19 is an extremely contagious disease that can cause severe illness and death. By attending the 17th Annual Harford County Public Library Gala, you voluntarily assume all risks related to exposure to COVID-19.
A few things you can expect to see at the 17th Annual Harford County Public Library Gala:
- Non-invasive thermal temperature scans at parking lot entrances.
- All staff, vendors and volunteers wearing face coverings, and complimentary face coverings available and encouraged for guests.
- A team of cleaning professionals disinfecting guest areas and event spaces from 5pm – 11pm.
- Nearly 40 hand sanitizer stations throughout the event space.
- Appropriate and comfortable physical distancing at the Gala.
Thermal Temperature Scans
Points of entry into all Gala parking lots will be limited and may take additional time for admittance. Thank in advance for your patience while we make every effort to ensure the safety of our guests, staff, vendors and volunteers. Anyone displaying a temperature of 100.4°F or above will be asked to pull forward into a designated space for a secondary screening. Guests, staff, vendors and volunteers confirmed to have a temperature of 100.4°F or above will not be allowed entry into the event and will be directed towards appropriate medical care.
Physical Distancing
Guests will be advised to practice physical distancing by standing at least six feet away from other groups of people not in their party. This would include standing in lines and moving throughout the event. Tables, lounge areas and other physical layouts will be arranged to ensure appropriate distancing. Staff, volunteers and vendors will be reminded not to touch their faces and to practice physical distancing by standing at least six feet away from guests and other staff, volunteers and vendors whenever possible.
Hand Sanitizer
Hand sanitizer dispensers, touchless whenever possible, will be placed at key guest, staff, volunteer and vendor contact areas such as food and beverage stations, lounge areas, reception areas, registration, silent auction, dance floor and bathroom entrances and exits.
Face Coverings
Staff, volunteers and vendors will be required to wear face coverings, unless HCPL Senior Staff determines, in its discretion, that other safety protocols are sufficient to protect the staff member, volunteer, vendor and guests. Certain staff, volunteers and vendors with significant exposure to guests for long periods of time will be allowed, at their discretion, to wear N95 or equivalent masks. Guests are strongly encouraged to wear face coverings at all times, and in some settings where physical distancing is difficult or barriers do not exist, will be required to do so. Complimentary face coverings will be provided upon guests arrival.
Signage
There will be health and hygiene reminders throughout the event space including the proper way to wear and handle masks and face coverings. Recommendations on the number of guests per table and within lounge areas will be on display.
Thank you for complying with our efforts to ensure everyone’s safety!
