About the Foundation

The Harford County Public Library (HCPL) Foundation is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization established to raise funds to augment the financial resources of the Harford County Public Library (HCPL) and to promote awareness of its services. A viable example of a public-private partnership in action, the Foundation’s Board of Directors represents a diverse cross section of the community and shares a commitment to improving our region. HCPL serves the residents of Harford County through 11 branch locations and two outreach vehicles serving a geographic area that ranges from suburban to rural.

Last year, due to the generous participation of many local businesses and individuals, the HCPL Foundation was successful in raising over $100,000 for the Library! These funds were applied to the Havre de Grace Building Campaign, Summer Reading Challenge and Winter Reading Program, Early Literacy Center in Bel Air, STEM programs and more. This year our goal is to raise more than $100,000 to support the Library’s Summer Reading Challenge, STEM programs and other Library initiatives.
